Justin Cox is an Education and Employment Specialist with King County Superior Court: Community Programs Unit.  Justin came to Seattle after growing up in Compton, California for the first 15 years of his life.  Despite having a troubled childhood, Justin always managed to exceed in education and athletics.  After graduating from Evergreen High School in Seattle’s White Center neighborhood, Justin went on to Washington State University where he studied criminal justice and became the first college graduate in his family. 

Growing up there were a handful of individuals that were instrumental in Justin’s growth from youth into adulthood. Inspired by the mentorship he received, Justin made it his goal to be the community leader that he needed as a teenager.  He has hosted events that have attracted thousands of youth, helped create job opportunities, and still holds relationships with hundreds of youth in the West Seattle area. When presented with the idea of joining the CIS Board of Directors, Justin felt it aligned with his lifelong goal to continue to help better the lives of the community that helped better his.
