Rich Meagley is a recently retired investment professional having spent over 30 years at Safeco Corp. and Private Asset Management. Throughout his career, and as his daughters launched their careers, the importance of education as a success factor in life has been consistently reinforced.
Rich’s decision to become involved with Communities in Schools of Seattle started with his own life experiences and the mission statement: “to surround students with a community of support, empowering then to stay in school and achieve in life.” He quickly learned how complex the issues are and the material challenges faced by some students to remain in school. Also, the business challenges facing non-profits is an area that interests him and where he hopes to be able to contribute.
Though not a native, after 40 years of living in the Seattle area, he is close to one. Rich and his wife Leslie enjoy the outdoors and travel, while trying to do their part to improve the world we live in.
