Jess was born in Seattle, and spent her childhood between living in the States and Mexico. She attended Claremont McKenna College in California and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Spanish Literature. Growing up as an “at-risk” youth herself, Jessica understands the importance of community-based organizations like CIS. Her experiences as an “at-risk” youth also showed her the deep need for people with her background to change current systems through engaging and empowering citizens. She likes to read, workout and spend time with her partner exploring Seattle. She is excited to start working with the Rainier Beach High School community as the CIS site coordinator and collaborate with every stakeholder to ensure the success of RBHS youth as scholars and leaders!
