Every summer we team up with corporate, non-profit, and faith-based partners like you from across the Seattle area to collect school supplies for students in 10 schools in the Seattle School District.
From June through August, CIS Seattle collaborates with community partners, like you, to collect basic school supplies for K-12 public school students. At the end of the summer thousands of supplies are given directly to Seattle Public Schools to distribute to low-income students. When you put school supplies in the hands of kids who need them, you are helping eliminate a huge barrier to success. When students don’t have the supplies they need for school, they may feel too embarrassed or ashamed to ask for help.

The schools that benefit from the drive are Highland Park Elementary, Roxhill Elementary, Dearborn Park Elementary, Van Asselt Elementary, Pathfinder K-8 School, Aki Kurose Middle School Academy, Denny International Middle School, Chief Sealth High School, and Rainier Beach High School.
Why get involved in Stuff The Bus?
As the average yearly cost of school supplies for a child is more than $100, many families are often forced to decide between feeding their family and purchasing school supplies. With your help, this struggle is eliminated.
What do community partners do?
- Collect school supplies – Rally your coworkers, members, or to collect donations at your business or organization, and our bus will roll in and collect the supplies at the end of August or, if your business is located near one of our collection sites, you can come drop off your supplies on collection day!
- Help support the drive! – share the drive with your friends, family, or coworkers and help raise money
- Volunteer at an event such as:
- Seahawks Game Collection
- Community Pickup Day
- Sorting Days
- Sponsor Stuff The Bus – Invest in the success and strength of Stuff The Bus
Stuff The Bus does end in August, but this year we are excited to announce that we will be organizing a February Backpack Drive! The backpack drive will focus on providing sturdy backpacks to kids in 10 schools. We’d love to have you participate in the Backpack Drive!
